About Yuba Sutter TMA

Yuba-Sutter TMA Mission
Yuba-Sutter Transportation Management Association is a nonprofit partnership of public and private employers working together to address regional transportation and air quality issues.

Our goal is to make Yuba-Sutter County a better place to live, work and shop by reducing regional miles traveled through promotion of innovative alternatives to the single-occupant vehicle.

Yuba-Sutter TMA Vision
For Yuba-Sutter counties, Yuba-Sutter TMA envisions a balanced multimodal transportation system that includes transit, a regional bus system, a regional roadway system, local streets, bicycle and pedestrian facilities and associated system and travel demand management services. This system will provide reliable mobility choices to all its users: residents and visitors of all ages, incomes and physical abilities, as well as businesses that provide services and produce or sell goods. Users will find it easy to access and it will permit efficient state and nationwide connections for people and goods.

Guiding Principles
Yuba-Sutter TMA’s guiding principles are woven into all aspects of its strategic plan. Values reflect the intentions and expectations of stakeholder from throughout Yuba-Sutter counties.

  • Help preserve and enhance mobility throughout Yuba-Sutter counties
    Plan and implement transportation solutions that will effectively reduce single‐occupancy vehicle trips and enhance the multimodal transportation system.
  • Educate and collaborate with all stakeholders
    Reach out to stakeholders and include all who desire to be part of the solution to assure that concerns and ideas of all are thoughtfully integrated into the planning and delivery of services.
  • Be sustainable and flexible
    Enable the TMA to become self‐sustaining over time and to adapt to the ever‐changing transportation environment.
  • Promote public health and safety as they relate to transportation
    Recognize the interrelationship of development and the transportation system and be an advocate for solutions that will help maintain the quality of life throughout the Yuba-Sutter region as the area continues to grow and develop.
  • Be creative and innovative
    Work together to create innovative solutions to transportation problems. Do not confine the TMA to duplicating existing programs and services.
  • Provide leadership on transportation issues in the community
    Establish effective leadership that brings all stakeholders together to accomplish what no one entity could accomplish on its own.
  • Create mutually beneficial partnerships
    Form strategic partnerships that result in beneficial outcomes for all involved.
